Lomi Lomi Massage

Having trained on the Big Island of Hawaii, Sacred Lomi Lomi massage is given in fluid, rhythmic motion using the forearms as well as the hands. Some people have described this as feeling like gentle waves moves over the body.  One client stated “it’s like getting a massage from the inside out!” Another feature is that different parts of the body may be massaged at the same time, for example one arm or hand may be working on a shoulder and the other hand may be working on the opposite hip. This assists the recipient in totally relaxing as it is impossible or at least extremely difficult for the brain to focus on the two different areas at once. By not working on areas in isolation, a deep sense of balance and harmony is achieved.  It is important to remember that the practitioner does not heal, but is the facilitator for the healing.

Cranial Sacral Therapy

CST was pioneered and developed by osteopathic physician John E. Upledger.

CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.

Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system.

By complementing the body's natural healing processes, CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction, including:

  1. Migraine Headaches
  2. Chronic Neck and Back Pain
  3. Motor-Coordination Impairments
  4. Colic
  5. Autism
  6. Central Nervous System Disorders
  7. Orthopedic Problems
  8. Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries
  9. Scoliosis
  10. Infantile Disorders
  11. Learning Disabilities
  12. Chronic Fatigue
  13. Emotional Difficulties
  14. Stress and Tension-Related Problems
  15. Fibromyalgia and other Connective-Tissue Disorders
  16. Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ)
  17. Neurovascular or Immune Disorders
  18. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
  19. Post-Surgical Dysfunction

Lymphatic Drainage

Using exacting anatomical science and distinctive manual processes, LDT enables practitioners to detect the specific rhythm, direction, depth and quality of the lymph flow anywhere in the body. From there, therapist uses their hands to perform Manual Lymphatic Mapping (MLM) of the vessels to assess overall circulation and determine the best alternate pathways for draining body-fluid stagnations.

Therapists work with flat hands, using all the fingers to simulate gentle, specific wave-like movements. These subtle manual maneuvers activate lymph and interstitial fluid circulation as well as stimulate the functioning of the immune and parasympathetic nervous systems. It is shown that when these actions are accomplished, the results can be:

  • Reduction in edemas (swelling) and lymphedemas of various origins
  • Detoxification of the body
  • Regeneration of tissue, including burns, wounds and wrinkles
  • Alleviation of adiposis and cellulite tissue
  • Anti-aging effects
  • Relief of numerous chronic and subacute inflammations, including sinusitis, bronchitis and otitis
  • Relief of chronic pain
  • Reduction in the symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia
  • Antispastic actions to relieve conditions such as muscle hypertonus and some forms of constipation
  • Deep relaxation to aid insomnia, stress, loss of vitality and loss of memory

Active Isolated Stretching

Developed by Aaron Mattes, Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) is one of the methods of stretching most used by today's athletes, massage therapists, personal/athletic trainers, and professionals. Active Isolated Stretching allows the body to repair itself and also to prepare for daily activity. The Active Isolated Stretching technique involves the method of holding each stretch for only two seconds. This method of stretching is also known to work with the body's natural physiological makeup to improve circulation and increase the elasticity of muscle joints and fascia.
